Nurturing Young Minds Through Environmental EducationThe Environmental Journey program reconnects young people with the natural world through hands-on learning, storytelling, and guided exploration. In a generation increasingly distanced from nature, EJ rebuilds that vital relationship, helping students see themselves not as bystanders but as stewards of Sierra Leone’s rich ecosystems.
Through classroom sessions, outdoor field experiences, and the power of local environmental storytelling, students discover how forests, rivers, and wildlife sustain their communities — and what they can do to protect them. The program plants the seeds of lifelong environmental awareness, nurturing the conservationists, teachers, and community leaders of tomorrow.

Sustainable Forest Management
Training Forest CommunitiesFor communities that live alongside and depend on the forest, conservation and livelihood must go hand in hand. This program works directly with forest-dependent communities, equipping them with sustainable practices that protect biodiversity while safeguarding the resources families rely on to thrive.
Through practical training, we help communities adopt land-use methods that reduce pressure on forests, prevent deforestation, and preserve the habitats of the species that make these ecosystems irreplaceable. By putting knowledge and ownership in the hands of local people, we create conservation that lasts — rooted in the communities themselves rather than imposed from outside.

Community Tree Nurseries
Restoring Our Landscapes Through ReforestationRestoring what has been lost is at the heart of our reforestation work. We operate five community-based native tree nurseries that produce 2,000 indigenous seedlings every six months, all raised, tended, and planted by local hands.
By focusing on native and indigenous species, we ensure that reforestation strengthens rather than disrupts local ecosystems — rebuilding habitats, protecting soil and water, and drawing down carbon. Because the nurseries are community-based, they also create local skills, ownership, and a shared stake in the health of the land for generations to come.
