John Kamara

Founder & Director

Leads the organisation’s vision, strategic partnerships, and conservation initiatives. Passionate project professional with a background in environmental conservation and community engagement. Holds a Master of Economics with a dedicated focus on the intersection of trade policy and environmental impact. Core competencies in grant writing, volunteer coordination, and the logistical delivery of conservation, reforestation and educational projects.

Sheku Momoh

National Coordinator

Manages the day-to-day operations of the organisation and oversees the implementation of all national programs and projects. Motivated and result-driven professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Information Technology. Experienced in environmental conservation, community mobilisation and project coordination.

Steven Bassie

Deputy National Coordinator

Dedicated community development practitioner, environmental advocate, and emerging fisheries professional with experience in community engagement, agricultural development, and livelihood initiatives. Supports the National Coordinator in managing programs, coordinating staff, and ensuring effective delivery of organisational initiatives.

Marian Sheriff

Program Manager – Environmental Education

Designs and leads the implementation of environmental education programs that reconnect young people and communities with nature. Social work professional committed to improving the well-being of vulnerable communities through inclusive and sustainable development initiatives. With over 5 years of experience teaching environmental subjects in primary and senior secondary schools.

Lansana Momoh

Program Manager – Forest Restoration

Leads forest restoration initiatives aimed at restoring degraded landscapes, increasing biodiversity, and supporting sustainable livelihoods. Experienced Project Manager with over 6 years of experience in community mobilisation and project implementation. Skilled in field research, data analysis and project monitoring and evaluation.

Saidu Feika

Programs Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Plans, monitors, evaluates, and reports on the organisation’s environmental and community programmes. Works to strengthen our projects’ performance by tracking activities, collecting and analysing data, documenting results, and ensuring that lessons learned are used to improve programme delivery and impact. He is a final-year Bachelor of Science student at Eastern Technical University, Kenema and holds a Higher Teachers Certificate (HTC).

Dr Mohamed Yateh

Forest Research Coordinator

Leads scientific research and provides technical guidance for forest conservation, biodiversity monitoring, and ecosystem restoration initiatives. He supports the design of research methodologies, ecological assessments, environmental monitoring, and the development of evidence-based conservation strategies. Dr Yateh recently completed his PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering at Tongji University in Shanghai, China, after earning a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from the same institution.

Accountant

Finance graduate from Eastern Technical University with strong expertise in financial management, reporting, and budgeting. Oversees SLEM’s financial reporting, budget tracking, and compliance.
